Senior Asset Manager - Electrical Engineering Gatwick Airport To c. £55,000 + Bonus to 30% + Executive Benefits Acquired in 2009 by US-owned Global Infrastructure Group G.I.P, Gatwick is the World's busiest single runway airport. As the ‘jewel in the crown’ for its new multinational owners, Gatwick is immediately benefiting from major investment… both financially and in terms of operational improvement-focused management impetus… all aimed at creating a level of customer experience and increased capacity that is completely transforming Gatwick… an ambition way beyond just improving it. A £1 Billion capital investment budget has been committed - as part of an ongoing capital programme - in parallel with an accelerated drive to achieve dramatic forward steps in operational performance & customer experience. Dramatic steps, within the context of Gatwick’s leadership approach… one that seeks to engage the broader airport stakeholder community in a shared vision. Within the operational structure of the Airport, separate management teams focus on each logical area of performance delivery - from Car Park to Take Off - each including its Senior Engineering Operations Manager and with HQ roles of the same level representing the Airport’s Principal Technical and Asset Management Authority for each specific engineering discipline. Reporting to the Business Unit functional heads is a close-knit team of high-level operational line managers whose core responsibilities are driving the performance of directly-employed technicians and sub-contract partners; but who look to the Senior Technical Authorities for guidance on asset & maintenance strategy, engineering standards/safety; and other forms of “highest level” specialist advice and support… It is envisaged that the successful candidates will combine a strong electrical engineering pedigree (Degree, ideally Chartered) with a progressive technical management career which includes strong evidence of guiding and supporting high performance asset optimisation strategies, as well as a record of creating and delivering significant improvements in a very large, very complex, fast-paced operational environment. Other key factors are… √√ Strong Influencing Skills (boardroom to shopfloor) learned in a multiple-stakeholder operational structure √√ A strong advocate of modern approaches to LV/MV/HV electrical engineering maintenance & asset management, CMMS, PPM, TPM, RCM, OEE etc. √√ The drive and commercial instincts to deliver ongoing improvements: through the operations team, suppliers, sub-contractors, with airport stakeholders and as the “customer” for the electrical aspects capital projects √√ The professionalism & ambition to thrive in a highly results-driven environment √√ A leadership style based on coaching and influencing.
